Inverclyde A Beautiful Place Steeped In History
Inverclyde is a beautiful place that is steeped in history. I was born in the town of Greenock and brought up in the neighbouring town of Port Glasgow so I may therefor be biased when I say I think it has some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland. I encourage you to come for a visit and judge for yourself there is really something for everyone. You should see for yourselves what the place has to offer as its really is a beautiful part of the country
INVERCLYDE TODAY
Inverclyde is a council area in the West Central Lowlands of Scotland. Its made up of the three towns of Greenock, Port Glasgow and Gourock. It also includes the villages of Weymss bay, Inverkip and Kilmacolm.
Inverclyde is not the usual tourist destination. Large cruise ships often dock in the town of Greenock then take the passengers on trips out to other areas. They often take them to Glasgow, Loch Lomand, Edinburgh and the likes. Yes all of these places are great places to visit I don’t deny it. I have visited them all myself many times. Inverclyde itself is beautiful place that has lots of things to see and do Newark Castle, the beacon arts centre, the Esplanade, Statues, beautiful areas for walking. It is also the last resting place of Robert (Rabbie) Burns Highland Mary. Greenock is where the Inventor James Watt was born. You will see him represented throughout the town he even has a pub named after them.
